Rock am Ring

For the 40th anniversary of Rock am Ring, ST. ROBO partnered with PRK DreamHaus to deliver the 2025 edition of the festival.

The creative and production scope covered a comprehensive redesign of the overall festival appearance, the development of a site-wide motion identity, and the integrated use of lighting, laser and SFX elements across the entire site.

At the heart of the concept was the reimagining of the delay towers as active scenographic structures. These large-scale vertical elements were fitted with high-resolution LED surfaces, lighting fixtures and laser systems, allowing them to function as visual extensions of the main stage.

To transform changeovers into engaging content moments, ST. ROBO collaborated with Snapchat Inc. to introduce the Snapchat Cam at both Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. Combining well-known Snapchat Lenses with bespoke interactive AR effects displayed live on the festival screens, the audience became part of the show during transitional moments. Each sequence was introduced by a custom animated opener, elevating the familiar “Kiss Cam” format into a festival-scale experience.

The updated Rock am Ring brand identity was consistently applied across all motion design assets. Whether announcing lineup updates, integrating partner content or running animated branding loops during changeovers, each visual element followed a unified creative framework. The outcome was a flexible motion toolkit, adaptable across multiple formats and precisely aligned with the show control timelines.

A key highlight was the exclusive announcement of Linkin Park as the 2026 headliner - a carefully choreographed show moment combining animated content, lighting and SFX to introduce the festival’s new brand colour in a striking and memorable way.
